There are not many European car brands in Paris. The dangerous Chinese are knocking on the door of Europe, and the French are mainly interested in the idea of how to maintain the production of electric cars in France as much as possible in the future. This is clearly not good news for Revoz from Novo Mesto. Meanwhile, in Paris, there are many interesting concepts and a few truly new production cars, as well as the dilemma of how to change the issue of car ownership in the near future.
Today in Paris, a motor show has begun, which in many ways differs from traditional similar car events. Despite this, there are interesting questions about both mobility and, above all, measures to maintain the competitiveness of the European auto industry. Not in the world, but at first, especially at home. Already at the fairgrounds in Paris, if we exclude some innovations from Renault, then there are many Chinese manufacturers.
There are a few well-established European brands. Mercedes-Benz has already revealed the new electric sports car EQE SUV, but not as part of an official exhibition. That’s why, through Paris, big Chinese car brands Great Wall and BYD are knocking on the doors of Europe, statistically a competitor to Tesla’s electric car. Fikser with electric ocean extremes and the Vietnamese brand Vinfast will also be presented to visitors.

The automobile industry is also the driving force of the French economy, and therefore it is also a sensitive social issue, for example, the French state is also an important owner of Renault. With the exception of Renault ZOE, new Megane, Kangoo and compact crossover Stylantis (Opel and DS), all other French electric cars are produced abroad.

Higher support for low-income families
Even before arriving at the exhibition site, French President Emmanuel Macron announced some concrete measures in a conversation with Les Echoes newspaper.
Thus, for low-income families, subsidies for electric cars will be increased from six thousand to seven thousand, and for high-income people it will be reduced from six thousand to five thousand euros. They will also offer favorable rental packages, with which it will be possible to drive an electric car for 100 euros per month from 2024.
Do you prefer electric cars with European origins?
Macron wants a larger share of electric cars manufactured in France, which isn’t even the best news for Slovenia’s Revoz in the long run. Consequently, Renault will assemble electric cars in Douai and Maubeug, and Stylantis is expected to produce future electric versions of the Peugeot 408 and 308 in France.
Macron will also support a measure similar to the one introduced by Congress in the United States, which prioritizes American-made vehicles in subsidies. As he said in the interview, he would strongly support such a decision.
